Andrea Altenhofen (Paraguay), Facundo Paredes (Argentina) and Andrea Cochachi (Peru) were a few of the students from South America who worked at French Lick Resort from December 2022 to March 2023 as part of our annual J1 Program.  Just like our hotels welcome guests from all over the world, some of our associates even come from all corners of the globe. Our J1 Program has been bringing international students to French Lick Resort for the opportunity to live in the U.S. for 3-4 months while earning experience in the hospitality industry. Traditionally, our J1 crew has come from European countries. Recently, we welcomed students from South America for the first time. Who says history can’t evolve into the future? That’s our mantra at the West Baden Springs Hotel Museum. We first opened this new space last May as a way to showcase some of the relics and stories from West Baden’s colorful and extensive past. And we’re not done yet when it comes to discovering and displaying the old pieces of our past that are continually being discovered. As the West Baden Museum officially turns 1 year old, here are four of the newest items that are on display. When you’re visiting, stop into the museum (open daily) and take a closer look for yourself. The Finial This is the biggie. It’s in the middle of the museum, it’s taller than most of us (about 6 feet) and it’s literally one-of-a-kind. It dates to 1902 when the hotel was built, and this is the only one of the original 16 finials to exist. These decorative elements adorned the towers of the hotel and were removed by the Jesuits when they occupied the building. This lone remaining finial made its way

Fourth of July Weekend Some Fourth of July celebrations are over and done too fast – especially when the holiday falls in the middle of the week. Ours is different. We’re going big with 5 huge days of Americana – including pool parties, cookouts, live music, food trucks and a cornhole tournament, all leading up to our grand fireworks show on Tuesday night. 2. Chocolate and Bourbon Tasting Trains Circle the last weekend of July on your calendar for the Chocolate Tasting Train and Bourbon Tasting Train on the French Lick Scenic Railway. Both are 21-and-over experiences and perfect for a unique date afternoon. 3. Hike or Bike 11+ Miles of Trails Ther
